DOCSIS® AND HMS BASED TRANSPONDER FOR NODES
Transponder Technology Continues to Evolve
Orlando , Florida - June 19, 2007 - Electroline announced today that a new design for fiber node transponders will be exhibited in their booth at the SCTE Cable Tech Expo at the Orlando Convention Center .
The new transponder is adaptable for integration into major brands and models of nodes and implements SNMP and HMS standard MIBs. It can monitor and communicate critical operating parameters of the node such as power supply input and output voltages, output current, Optical transmit and receive power, RF signal level, etc. It will also control and report operational status of redundancy switches and return bridge wink switches.
The new transponder is realizable because Electroline has been able to significantly shrink the physical size and minimize the power consumption so that the advantages of a DOCSIS® and HMS based solution could be applied for node monitoring and network management, said Jay Staiger, Electroline's vice president of product management . This transponder incorporates the smallest Cable Modem Module in its category and is fully and truly temperature hardened.
