The Electroline ReturnPath Amplifier (ERA)

Give Subscriber
Upstream Signals
a Boost

One of the key challenges facing two-way Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) networks is to achieve reliable return path signals from the subscriber's home, back to the CATV headend. A combination of factors such as high tap values, long cable drops, and attenuation from in-home passives can make this a difficult task.

That's where Electroline's ReturnPath Amplifier (ERA) comes in. It amplifies the return path RF signal of in-home devices such as cable modems and two-way set-top boxes. As such, proper signal levels are achieved for upstream communications when using the Internet, Interactive TV, data and telephony services.

The ERA's design allows distortion levels to be kept low in the downstream path even while signal levels are high in the upstream path. It provides 10 dB of gain and enough headroom to support high signal levels from in-home devices.

Features such as 6 kV surge protection on all ports, water sealed SCTE-compliant connectors, and PTC short-circuit protected wall adapters ensure the highest level of reliability for subscriber satisfaction.

Electroline designs and manufactures the ERA ReturnPath Amplifier at its North American ISO 9001 certified facility.
